Conclusion[a]
23 Final Prayer. May the God of peace himself grant you the gift of perfect sanctity, and may you—spirit and soul and body[b]—be preserved blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 The one who calls you is faithful, and he will accomplish this.
25 Final Greeting. Pray for us, brethren.

- 1 Thessalonians 5:23 Spirit and soul and body: i.e., the whole Christian person. The spirit is that which is open to the influence of grace; it is also the source of divine life with the Christian (see Rom 5:5). This is the only place in Paul that refers to this tripartite division.
